Reforestation Program
In 1989, Berne Furniture Company began a reforestation program. The company made a commitment to have one tree planted for each piece of furniture it built. The program has evolved into donating trees to various state parks located in Indiana and Ohio.
After the trees are donated, the state parks take on the responsibility of planting.
Since the inception of the Berne Furniture Reforestation Program, over hundreds of thousands of trees have been donated and planted. The estimated amount of living board feet of timber at maturity that has been donated by and planted on behalf of Berne Furniture Company more than offsets all of the lumber used by the company since it began in business in 1925.
Berne Furniture Company firmly believes in giving back to the environment the principal natural
resource that it uses in its manufacturing operations.

Invitation to New Dealerships
Berne Furniture Company has over 250 quality retail furniture dealerships located primarily in the Midwestern USA. The company is now opening invitation to accept applications for qualified retail furniture stores and department stores to become Berne Furniture dealerships in areas where there are no existing Berne Furniture dealerships throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Japan.
Treasure of Indiana
The Berne Furniture Company was chosen one of only seven Treasures of Indiana by the Indiana Department of Commerce. That special honor was presented by the First Lady of Indiana. The designation was bestowed upon only one other manufacturing company in Indiana, which is a well-known manufacturer of baseball bats.
